All we want is a place for gamers to come together and delight in their favorite hobby, while promoting a caring and sustainable working environment. We aim to create a space where every employee feels safe and protected, and empower each creative gamer to do their very best work without a shred of fear in the back of their mind.

Why One HP Gaming?

After various layoffs, two visionaries were left without work and the means to support their families. In a gaming industry that is rife with layoffs, finding other full-time work is no small feat, and so these two men set out to create a sustainable solution to employment within the gaming industry.

And so, wounded by capitalist greed at its finest, we’re down to one HP left, and we’ve taken a shot in the dark, hoping that we can burst down this final boss before that final hit that’ll drain the health pool. Hence, One HP Gaming.

But there’s one more easter egg in the name. HP isn’t only short for health points, but also for hope pays. One Hope Pays. We believe that when Pandora shut that box, hope wasn’t trapped inside, because it lives in us.

Just one sliver of hope can be the difference between progress and being frozen by fear.

Why the dark horse?

The Oxford Dictionary’s description of the dark horse: “a candidate or competitor about whom little is known but who unexpectedly wins or succeeds.”

Fitting, don’t you think? But it’s more than that. The dark horse is also the disruptor. The one who arrives to change things, potentially forever. We want to blaze the trail to more sustainable employment within the gaming industry. We want to show the world that mindless overhiring and subsequent layoffs is not the way.

We’ve come to disrupt the way the world works, to be the first of many companies that don’t chase profit simply to stuff our bank accounts, but to use that profit to better the lives of those who earned it with hard work, even at the ground level.

We’ve come to change things. We are the dark horse that lives in the nightmares of greedy capitalists.

A tad dramatic, perhaps. But the flame that burns inside each and every member of One HP Gaming is the flame of change, the flame of progress, the flame of passion for a better life for all, not just the few.
